Basil Pesto Hummus


Don't let the pale green colour of this pesto hummus fool you. It packs a punch with some serious pesto flavour! Enjoy it as a dip with pita, crackers and veggies, or as a spread on your favourite sandwiches and wraps.

  • 1 19-oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (~1 lemon)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 2 Tbsp pine nuts
  • black pepper, to taste


  1. In a food processor, combine all ingredients, and pulse until smooth.

  2. Garnish with extra basil, pine nuts and olive oil (optional). Serve and enjoy! Keeps for up to a week in the fridge.
